future oriented organization
During the development of the first semester projects, we made use of multiple documents and web applications to ensure the quality of the final work, such as:
- Team Charter
- Project Plan
A Trello board was also used in both projects to set deadlines and keep track of how far we were. Putting this method of work into practice positively changed the way I typically tackle big projects as the deadlines we set ensured that work was done on time.
investigative problem solving
With TravelBud we had to solve the issue of expensive traveling as a student, and so we made a survey to gauge what students look for in a solution.
We found multiple pointers to students' preferences, such as:
- Most students liking the idea of roadtrips as a means of travel
- Most students seeing as 5-10 people as the group size
- Most students not traveling being mainly split between no company and too expensive
personal leadership
My biggest struggle during this semester was to maintain a consistent work ethic, as I have always been someone who works off of spontaneous bursts of energy. I have come to realize this method of work will not be efficient in a professional workspace. I also often found myself being late to class during the orienting phase.
Since the start of the advanced phase, I have made efforts to improve my work ethic, such as:
- Making use of a Trello board to track my portfolio work
- Improving my attendance and being on time
I still have a lot of improvement before I'm fully capable of comfortably working in this manner, but I believe I will soon adapt.
targeted interaction
My group 3Dia made reflections on each other, laying out what we liked and what we thought could be improved across multiple categories.
